Canada Lends a Helping Hand to LGBTI Refugees


“Canada has a proud tradition of opening its doors to people from around the world and providing a safe haven to those in need of protection. The Private Sponsorship of Refugees Program plays a significant role in the resettlement of refugees from across the globe.” - Jason Kenney, Canadian Immigration Minister

Canada is doing its part to assist incoming LGBTI refugees from around the world arriving in the Canada over the next year. The Canadian government will offer $100,000 in support to refugees who are in need of income, accommodation, food and other basic needs. Rainbow Refugee Committee will also be helping to provide support and funding for these refugees as well.
