Yesterday, the EU Parliament called for the protection of LGBTI asylum-seekers. Today, Sarah Ludford, a member of the Liberal Democrats in the UK and Member of the European Parliament, has continued the call for protection for LGBTI asylum seekers and training for the staff who takes these cases.

“This should greatly improve the sensitivity and care with which people seeking recognition as refugees fleeing persecution on grounds of sexual orientation are treated," says MEP Sarah Ludford.

In the past weeks, ORAM has initiated and spearheaded two projects, the NGO Survey and the NGO Training Guide, that coincide with this new development in the European Union.
